Description
The goal of this study was to compare how pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum) with different phenotypes (those that produced a high proportion of winged offspring in response to crowded conditions vs. those that produced a low proportion of winged offsrping) differed in their transcriptional response to crowding. 10 genotypes of each phenotype were pooled from two treatments (solitary vs. crowded conditions), across 4 biological replicates. Offspring were dissected out of adults, and adult carcasses were used for RNA extraction.
