Description
Abnormal chromosome 10 (Ab10) is a meiotic drive system in the model crop plant Zea mays (maize, corn) and its undomesticated relatives. Although persistent at low levels in populations, Ab10 has been isolated from a number of different collections from North and South America. A series of six were grown by our lab. mRNA was extracted from meiotic anthers and sequenced to identify gene expression and variation in different Ab10 haplotypes.
