Leaf size and shape play important roles in agronomic traits, such as yield, quality and stress responses. Wide variation for leaf morphological traits exists in cultivated varieties of many plant species. However, genes and molecular mechanisms regulating leaf shape and final size were only identified in model systems. The genetic structure of leaf shape and size were not characterized in Brassica napus.
