Description
Sensory cells have different modalities, presumably associated to different cell types. However, the molecular basis for specific physiological properties as well as the acquisition of particular phenotypes during embryonic development and evolution are poorly understood. In order to study sensory cell types, more markers are needed. In particular, the molecular signatures of cranial sensory neurons are poorly known. The aim of this study is to establish profiles of molecular markers for the neuronal cell types in the cranial sensory ganglia in chicken.
