Submitter Supplied Information

Description
A major seedlessness genetic locus (SDL locus) controlling stenospermocarpy in grapevine has been consistently idtentified. A QTL analysis detected that the SDL locus explains most of the seed content variation in a Red globe x Crimson Seedless F1 progeny. Seeded and seedless individuals from this progeny selected for the corresponding genotype in the SDL locus were transcriptomically compared trying to approach the responsible mutation. Three diffferentially expressed genes were detected within the genomic region delimited to contain the mutation by fine mapping using recombinant F1 individuals. RNA sequences were inspected to evaluate these three genes to contain the responsible mutation in regulatory regions.
