Description
Because of maize high productivity and numerous industrial application, it became one of most important crop species and is grown over wide range of latitudes. Therefore as thermophilic plant, encountered environmental stresses related to non-optimal growth conditions, like for instance herbicide spraying. In our project we try to elucidate transcriptome changes in two maize lines treated with herbicide Roundup. Selected maize lines differ in reaction to glyphosate - active compound of Roundup - one (S245) is tolerant and the other (S79757) is sensitive to glyphosate. Performed next generation sequencing and comperative analysis of obtained transcriptomes will help us to describe molecular basis of herbiced tolerance in plants.
