Description
Several populations of the mosquito Aedes aegypti displaying contrasted resistance levels to the pyrethroid insecticide deltamethrin were analyzed by RNA-seq in order to identify the genetic bases of pyrethroid resistance.Five deltamethrin resistant populations (R populations) and three fully susceptible populations (S populations) originating from various continents were compared in regards of their gene transcription and transcript polymorphism.Each population was analyzed in triplicate, each RNA sample being extracted from 30 2-4 days old non-blood fed adult females. RNA-seq libraries were sequenced on an illumina GAIIx sequencer as 75bp paired reads.
