Description
The physiology and molecular regulation of phosphorus (P) remobilisation from vegetative tissues to developing grains during grain filling plays a pivotal role in the global P cycle yet little is known about this process. We conducted a RNA-seq transcriptome analysis of the rice flag leaf when P concentration was stable (6 DAA) and when the leaf was acting as a P source (15 DAA) to test the hypothesis that a subset of genes involved in the P starvation response are involved in remobilisation of P from flag leaves to the seeds during grain filling.
